FindEcommerceHost.com Helps Consumers Find the Right Ecommerce Hosting

There is no doubt that the Internet has changed the way people do business. Ecommerce plays a major part in the global economy and entrepreneurs and businessmen now have a choice between traditional bricks and mortar type businesses, and conducting business on the Internet. For those who choose the Ecommerce route, finding the right Web host is just as important as finding the right location for a traditional business. A new Web site launched recently, FindEcommerceHost.com, helps people find the right Ecommerce Web host to meet their budget and requirements.

There is a lot to think about when you start an Ecommerce Web site, explains FindEcommerceHost.coms Web Editor, Anne Wongsawat. You might have the product people want, but how are you going to display it on your Web site in a way that makes it easy for people to buy it? Do you use Shopping cart-type software? If so, which is best? If your site is successful, and people want to buy your products, how do they pay for them? Which payment gateway can you use? What will happen if your site becomes a small Amazon.com and receives hundreds of thousands or even millions of visitors a day? Choosing the right Ecommerce Web host can answer many of these questions.

Testing boosts Friends Provident's ecommerce apps

Financial service company Friends Provident is using software testing tools to improve the quality of its ecommerce applications.

The company's tech team designs, implements and manages ecommerce applications that deliver insurance information to banks and independent financial advisors, and needed a testing tool that could be used by distributed teams.

Craig Gibbons, senior IT consultant at Friends Provident told silicon.com: "If you go back about three years, IT at Friends Provident was working in smaller teams with business people to do projects. We started to move away from that as Friends Provident got bigger.

"We are working more in global teams and we needed a test management product that worked that way. We were looking for a test management product that we could roll out easily and quickly and would support people working geographically apart," he added.

San Antonio's vets to receive job-training assistance

The American GI Forum and the National Veterans Outreach Program will receive a $1.35 million grant to provide job training to veterans in San Antonio.

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, made the announcement on Monday.

The U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration is supplying the funds. The money will go toward building a job-training and work-therapy center in San Antonio. The project is expected to create 115 jobs.

The center should be able to address the needs of homeless and disabled veterans in the city.

"This is a welcome investment to help expand job opportunities for San Antonio veterans," Cornyn says. "We have a moral obligation to provide the care and benefits our veterans deserve. This includes offering assistance to enter the workforce with increased jobs skills and training."

UK living standards outstrip US

The figures may be of small comfort to Britons worried about house prices and facing a severe squeeze on their incomes this year as a result of record petrol prices and rising energy bills.

Citigroup, which was the most accurate forecaster of Britain’s economy last year, predicts the slowest rise in consumer spending this year since 1992.

"After the credit-fuelled boom in domestic demand and asset prices, the UK economy now faces a hangover, with slowing credit growth, falling property prices and tightening lending standards," said Michael Saunders, its UK economist.

Last week oil prices hit $100 a barrel, presaging a rise in petrol and diesel prices on the fore-courts. Npower, Britain’s fourth biggest energy supplier, announced that energy prices would go up sharply, raising the prospect of the average household bill rising above £1,000 for the first time.
