Regions gives $750K to Toys for Tots
Regions Financial Corp. announced Monday that it contributed $750,000 to Toys for Tots through its "Accounts that Count" campaign. The Birmingham-based banking giant (NYSE: RF) gave the toys to 10,000 children in 16 states where Regions serves customers. Toys include new bikes and helmets. Regions made a donation to its Toys for Tots Bike Fund for each person who qualified for an account through Dec. 31. The Accounts That Count campaign began in October in Alabama and Florida and in November for 14 other states: Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. .

OK...so we have nearly 30,000 Dell support technicians of varying skills, many relying on repair scripts, and some very good. Now the bad news...each technician probably works an 8 to 12 hour shift (maybe 10-12 overseas). So only 9,000 are on duty at any 8 hour shift, maybe a few more in peak times. 500,000 requests on an average day means each technician handles 16 cases a day or about 2 an hour. On heavy days that number rises to 4, 6, or 8 an hour. At the higher volume it's an impossible task as any technician can attest (I am an A+ trainer myself).
